A big role of Pakistan IT industry in stability of Pakistan

Pakistan IT industry can play a important role for the growth of the Pakistan. Pakistan IT industry has been growing steadily, with the country earning US$ 1,523.280 million from providing IT services to various countries in the first seven months of the current fiscal year 2022-23. This marks a growth of 2.38% compared to the previous fiscal year 2021-22.

Export of Computer Services

During July-January (2022-23), Pakistan’s export of computer services increased by 2.87% to US$ 1,225.730 million from US$ 1,191.575 million in the previous year. The exports of software consultancy services grew by 5.57% to US$ 454.283 million from US$ 430.309 million, while the exports of hardware consultancy services surged by 158.07% to US$ 3.502 million from US$ 1.357 million.

Export of Computer Software-Related Services

Export and import of computer software-related services increased by 11.89% to US$ 349.635 million from US$ 312.484 million in the previous year. The exports of repair and maintenance services rose to US$ 1.594 million from US$ 0.770 million in the previous year. However, other computer services witnessed a decrease of 6.70%, going down from US$ 446.655 million to US$ 416.716 million.

Export of Information Services

The export of information services declined by 16.40%, going down from US$ 3.110 million to US$ 2.600 million during the period under review. The exports of news agency services decreased by 12.48%, from US$ 2.052 million to US$ 1.796 million, while the exports of other information services also decreased by 24.01%, from US$ 1.058 million to US$ 0.804 million.
