Multan Sultans all-rounder Tim David has credited the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for his professional growth and global fame. The Australian cricketer, who was introduced to PSL by Lahore Qalandars in the 2021 edition during the COVID-hit season, says the league “plays a massive role for me” in figuring out how he wants to play the game and being challenged by high-quality players.
David’s flamboyance during his stint with Qalandars caught everyone’s eye, making him a sought-after player in franchise cricket. Speaking to Geo News ahead of Sultan’s match against Islamabad United in Rawalpindi, he expressed high expectations from himself and wants to contribute to the team’s success.
“I have high expectations of myself. I just want to go out on the field and contribute to the team’s success. I love hitting sixes, I love spending time in the middle. So, hopefully, I can score some runs. And just have a lot of fun out there,” said David.
David, an aggressive batter, wants to win the tournament and feels disappointed after coming second last year. However, he acknowledges that it’s hard to control and wants to play well and win the tournament.
PSL is challenging, especially for overseas players facing spin, but David finds it great and a massive part of his professional growth. The local players in the league are so competitive that it’s always a great test for overseas players, he added.
